Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day | 2019

The Rohingya community commemorates those members of the community killed, attacked and displaced during the campaigns of genocide in Myanmar on August 25, 2017.

 

This is also a day of celebration of culture, recognition of Rohingya ethnicity and shared solidarity with the Rohingya community who have been living in Carlow since 2009.

 

Main Event includes:

 

13:00 | Opening Ceremony, Raising of Rohingya Flag and Ribbons for Victims
14:00 | “TRIGGER” – Rohingya girls’ Dance Project at VISUAL Carlow
14:30 | Documentary Film – 10 Years of Rohingya Refugee Resettlement in Carlow
15:00 | “BLOODLINES” – Rohingya live performance at VISUAL Carlow
16:00 | Food and celebration at Carlow College, St. Patrick’s
