ERC Scholarship & Education Programme

Education is one of the most important foundations for the future of the Rohingya people. For generations, Rohingya children and young people have faced severe restrictions on access to formal education in Myanmar, while many young people growing up in the refugee camps in Bangladesh continue to have very limited opportunities to pursue recognised secondary and higher education.

The European Rohingya Council (ERC) is wholeheartedly committed to exploring and expanding educational opportunities for the younger Rohingya generation. ERC works to identify pathways to higher education, connect students with universities and scholarship opportunities, and help talented young Rohingya continue their studies despite displacement, statelessness and years of educational deprivation.

Türkiye has become especially important for Rohingya students seeking higher education. Scholarship opportunities, including Türkiye Scholarships (YTB), have opened doors for students who otherwise might never have had the chance to study at university. Through ERC's sustained educational efforts and support, hundreds of Rohingya students have secured admission in different fields of study at universities across Türkiye.

ERC will continue working with students, educational institutions and relevant partners to widen these opportunities and help more Rohingya young people build the knowledge, skills and professional capacity needed to serve their communities and shape a better future.
