THE ARREST OF ROHINGYA CHILDREN IN LANGKAWI

The European Rohingya Council are deeply concerned of the arrest reported by Rohingya community involving children between the age 9 till 16 years old while having UNHCR card last night, 23rd January 2019 at 1am. The children were terrified and traumatized and their parents are worried of their situation eventhough they tried to present their UNHCR cards to the Immigration Department in Langkawi but failed to release them.

There is no valid reason for the detention of the children and The European Rohingya Council urges Malaysia Government to release the children immediately.

Thank you.
