ERC’s Chairman speaks at 27th International Congress of Union of Muslim Communities



ISTANBUL: The European Rohingya Council (ERC) chairman Dr. Hla Kyaw participated at the 27th International Congress of Union of Muslim Communities organized by Economic and Social Research Center (ESAM) in Istanbul on Monday. During the conference, the chairman highlighted the current situations of Rohingya in Bangladesh and Myanmar. Dr. Kyaw also presented the history of Myanmar’s genocidal persecution of Rohingya and the devastation caused in the last and final phase of genocidal operation in 2017.


The chairman also discussed about how the international community and the Muslim Ummah have failed to stop or even to reduce the sufferings faced by Rohingya. He further shed light on finding long-lasting solution. In order to find the solution, three aspects of needs must be worked out simultaneously – Finding a Political Solution, Rebuilding the Community and Providing the urgent needs of Rohingya in Bangladesh and Myanmar.

The European Rohingya Council (ERC) is an umbrella Rohingya organization based in the Europe. The ERC was founded in Esbjerg Denmark on 7th October 2012. Officially registered (KvK 56454791) in Amsterdam,  The Kingdom of The Netherlands. The ERC operates its activities from its operational office in London, the United Kingdom.
